  3. The country of Denmark is
  4. a little remote for a quick
  5. hop across the Channel,but
  6. thanks to the port of
  7. Esberg, it is directly
  8. accessible from the UK
  9. through the ports of Harwich
  10. and Newcastle by ferry.
  11. Flights also go daily from
  12. Heathrow to Copenhagen and
  13. there are good links to
  14. most provincial airports.

  16. Denmark contains many islands
  17. and is a major target for
  18. motoring holiday tourists who
  19. use the well developed ferry
  20. system to hop from island
  21. to island.

  23. Although actual travel to
  24. Denmark can be reasonable,
  25. the cost of living is much
  26. higher than in the UK,although
  27. not as high as some other
  28. Scandinavian countries.There
  29. are many supermarkets etc and
  30. self-catering holidays are a
  31. good option. Farm house,
  32. chalet and Danish 'Pool'
  33. houses are all variations on the
  34. self-catering theme.

  36. Short tours to Copenhagen as a
  37. city break are popular especially
  38. by air. For the family a trip
  39. to the famous Legoland is good
  40. value (there may soon be a Lego-
  41. land opening in the UK!).

  44. welcoming country, many Danes
  45. speak English and have a strong
  46. affection for the UK.
